About
Hi, I am Jess. I have been around horses my entire life. Taking early inspiration from my grandad who was in the racing industry and thanks to my father I was able to have my first pony at the age of 11, a Palomino Welsh C Mare called Nancy. The perfect princess pony.
Nancy and I in the early days - before I developed a better feel for horses!
I have been lucky enough to own, ride and train a number of horses over the years and also to work within point to point, showing and breeding yards.
My passion is dressage training in hand & ridden as well as horsemanship & liberty training. Since 2008 I have worked hard to study this way with horses and have had some personal success with it.
I also enjoy hacking my horses and just generally spending time hanging out with them.
I have always had a keen interest in the way the horse moves and interacts on a physical and emotional level. However it wasn’t until my a certain little mare came into my life in 2015 that I felt I really wanted to learn more.
It was clear to me that she had some physical issues which were highlighting her already sensitive nature and I wanted to do whatever I could to help make her more comfortable both physically and mentally.
Hola Senorita is sadly no longer with us, but without the challenges I faced with her I would not have embarked on this special journey as a professional.

I am now continuing my horsemanship journey with my Welsh Section D Gelding Eric, who I have started and produced myself and who provides me with learning opportunities each and every day.
My practitioner training in Equine Massage was with Centaur Equine Massage Training which is a registered training provider and the course has been externally accredited by the UK Rural skills, as an approved UK Rural Skills training school.
Over the course of a year I completed 3 course modules each with coursework submitted and written examinations, as well as practical training days. I also completed case studies which are detailed practical treatments and written studies of 10 different horses. Finally I completed a practical treatment exam and a written examination for both of which I received Distinction pass rates.
My studies so far enable me to offer the following manual therapies: sports, remedial and healing massage therapy, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, joint mobilisations, Lymphatic drainage massage and gentle stretching. As well as postural and biomechanical assessments.
Due to further research and study I am also able to offer treatment with the following tools: The FascialEdge® tool, Heat Therapy, Kinesiology Taping, Balance Pads, Phototonic red light & PEMF (Pulsed Electromagntic Therapy). Find out more about these additional therapies here.
I am also an FEI Permitted Therapist, meaning I can work on horses whilst they are competing at FEI events.
I am passionate about CPD and constantly continue to extend my knowledge and skills in order to improve on how I can help your horses. You can find out about all the additional training I have done here.
